The Empirical Study on the Preference Country for Medical Tourism by Disease Type -Focused on Indonesia Potential Medical Tourists-

Abstract
This article has attempted to examine the each country``s promotion for medical tourism correspond with country``s image, also to provide managerial implication. Thus we investigated which country they would like to visit for medical tourism by disease type, and how important they consider the factors such as facilities, variety of attraction, kindness of hospital staff, and surgery, public security, cultural similarity. The result of this study enable government to find and highlight the attribute for medical tourism campaign for foreign by disease type. The findings on this study show that the importance of relaxation environment, accessibility to destination country, public security, cultural similarity differ with disease type. In other words, the importance of attraction variety, medical service level, easiness for entry process, kindness of hospital staffs do not differ with each disease type. Also the correlation between medical tourism destination country and disease shows that they are significantly correlated with each other. The potential medical tourist preferred South Korea for skin-care service, and plastic surgery, but Singapore for cancer, diabetes, and obstetrics. These result provide the each country with what they have to appeal to position their country``s imagine to potential medical tourist.
